50th Anniversary Longhorn Progress

Not much activity this week but at least I got the wheels back from the painter and the steering wheel, installed a new 1.25 inch swaybar and aligned the bed. Two styles of '68 caps shown...the painted version and the polished stainless version.

Yes those are my 9.75 x 16.5 wheels that I had powder coated Argent silver and now painted Anniversary Gold.

Rims are the old school 9.75 x 16.5 steel wheels with clips for the '68 and earslier hubcaps. Aftermarket wheels made for rear of the 3/4 and 1-ton trucks of that era. Some guys called them camper wheels. Steel and heavier than you can ever imagine but look cool.

Polished stainless...actually...even though some SPIDS list them as chrome. I have a set of each but then I have two of these trucks so one can never have too many sets of caps...LOL!

not to highjack, but those wheels look awesome, where would someone find a set of the hubcaps like that? I have a set of 6 lugs that have the clips and i think its easier to find jimmy hoffa...
