What Tail Lights Are You Guys Using?
I have a 55 Step Side that I've been trying to figure out what tail lights to use. I really don't want to use the stock lights. I just want to keep the back clean. I know there's a thread on rear bumper lights but I'm planning on putting a roll pan, but I don't want no lights in it. This is what I have come up with so far. I bought these and I think I'm gonna sink them into the bottom of my fenders. What you guys think? Or does anyone else have any suggestions?

Re: What Tail Lights Are You Guys Using?
I'm using these. I put them in the bed I built but they should also fit in the fenders.

Re: What Tail Lights Are You Guys Using?
I think I'm going to use the tear drop style lights. I've found a few different one's on ebay. Now are avalable with led and just need 3 holes drilled. I've wonder how far over to the side you can go before you lose sight of the tail light when mounted on the fender though..
really like the look of the double bar one

I'm running the same taillights on my 53 panel... sorry don't have a pic at the moment. I also flush mounted them right to the fender. I kind of want to do a partial french... I guess thats what you'd call it so they sit a little more flat. The curvature of the fender forces them to be angled out away from the truck a bit and I think it looks a little weird though a bunch of people keep telling me to leave it alone!

Re: What Tail Lights Are You Guys Using?
I want to do what this guy did by mounting them sideways and building a bucket to bring them out rather than frenching them in. I like them up higher and farther out because they are more visible that way. The last thing you want is to be rear ended because someone didn't see your tiny little lights way down low and half hidden by the stake pocket. I bought oval 42-48 FORD lights to do mine. I also think round 50 Pontiac lights would look good this way. I've just seen too many teardrops on these fenders to copy that look.
