Question AT shift point question for the masses

When coming of a traffic light, with the selector in "Drive", what RPM does your trans go to second and then third? I have a B&M shift kit in mine and I think it is shifting too soon causing a bog if I'm on it too much. Right now it shifts about 2-2200 rpm, I think if I raised the shift point it would alleviate my issue. Of course leisurely shifting the point varies, but my concern is shifting under power. I put a new modulator on the trans years ago and thought I had it set right. Would 3000 rpm be too high for this? Cnut
