Help with tires for coys wheels

I think I have decided on wheels after thinking about it for about 3 months. I think I am going to go with coy c-5's 18" front and back with 8" wide in the front and 9.5 in the back. Gunmetal finish. I called coys this morning and talked with them for a bit. They mentioned they can sell tires already mounted on the rims. Nitto 555's Anyone got their tires from them?

I was originally thinking of toyo proxes st's for my truck. I called my local tire shop and they said they had 3 sizes in 18.

255-45-18 $194 a tire
285-60-18 $221 a tire
295-45-18 $285 a tire

I know nothing about tire sizes. But I do about money and the nittos from coys sounded a hell of alot cheaper.

Anyone have any tire suggestions for this wheel setup. My truck has a 2.5 drop spindle in the front and a 4" drop spring in the rear.

Please excuse the crappy picture.

Thanks ,

Steve

Should look very nice once you have your new wheels & tires.

Good luck!

Re: Help with tires for coys wheels

What size tires do you currently have on the 15" wheels on the truck? Looks to me to be either 255/60-15 or 275/60-15. Do you want a lower overall diameter or a higher diameter, stay the same or fill in the wheel wells a bit more?

This will all help to answer the question of what size tires you need then I would work on the price...

The Proxes are a great tire. Love em. NItto are an ok tire but as they get older they tend to cup and get really loud.

Here's mine:

I've got the Nittos and no complaints, but I haven't put 1000 miles on them. Truck is at stock height - for now.

Re: Help with tires for coys wheels

ECE 3.5 / 5 using 2.5 drop spindles with 1" springs, 5" in back. Would have gone 4 / 6 but wanted to make sure I could still use it for a truck without cutting stuff up.

Re: Help with tires for coys wheels

Well I called to order some 18" gunmetal coy c-5's today. They have the 18x8"'s that I want but I will be waiting on 18x10's until late may. I didn't place my order, that is a long time to wait. Now i'll see if the chrome grows on me.

Does anyone have the chrome and if so how is the quality of the plating?
