I need your guy's help

well heres what i need help with, for about the past year i have been working on a 69 lwb for my first truck. I am 16 and pretty much doing everything and paying for everything by myself so its a learning process along the way. but finally i am close to paint, and originally i was going to go with atomic orange, i love the color. But of my quetions is what is the best color to paint it? keep in mind this hasnt been a cheap "fixer upper" build either, but not a frame off. i want a nice color that is generally liked. if any of you guys could help me out that would be great, because i havnt been able to deiced on a color.

oh and dont worry, i love these trucks and plan on getting another one as soon as i have the money

Re: I need your guy's help

what was the original color..? Keep in mind that if your going to sell it, it might be easier to sell if it was an original "looking" truck. I have a 72 suburban and I'm not painting it the original olive green that it once was, I'm more of a viper red kinda guy... but since your flipping it, than going back with original colors might be the way to go (thats just my opinion), if not than a nice gloss white might be appealing as well ( and a fairly cheap color to buy)... hope that helps, and sorry you have to sell her...

Re: I need your guy's help

they don't call it "resale red" for nothing. A nice red usually sells pretty good.

Re: I need your guy's help

Im getting ready to paint my truck and ive had a hard time deciding on a color myself. Im pretty sure my truck will be silver. Its light, looks great on the trucks that ive seen and its easy to maintain. Good luck

Re: I need your guy's help

reds and blacks are good resale colors. but black shows all flaws and damage, body work has to be perfect. lighter colors hide most flaws, like white. i dont thing orange would be a good selling point

Re: I need your guy's help

My opinion is paint the truck the color You like. I like a lot of the truck colors on here but I have specific colors I like. My current truck came with new paint, and I am not a huge fan of the color but it works.

Do a lot of searching on here, there are some awesome trucks with really sweet paint jobs.

Good luck.

Re: I need your guy's help

Orange on most cars/trucks is not a selling point but a good orange & white 2-tone paint job on these trucks is, imo, as good or better than any other color combo you can choose. As someone else pointed out, unless you know its going to be perfect, stay away from gloss black.

Re: I need your guy's help

i've always wanted something i could paint HOK Rootbeer, but it wouldn't look good on a classic. I'm gonna be bold and do a two town with black and charcoal grey i think...just need to find out what it would/could look like on my truck first...silver, white, red are pretty good colors...i LOVE black trucks, but like they said...better make sure it is done right!

Re: I need your guy's help

unless money is no problem -why paint it? money could probably be better spent on things to get truck safely down the road.
