8 Lug to 5 Lug conversion

Hey everyone,
I'm thinking of buying a front end(and potentially a rear) from an 84' 3/4 and I'm just wondering what I would need to do to convert the 8 lug set-up to a 5 lug. Is it just a matter of swapping hubs? If so I plan on getting drop spindles anyway. I'm still fairly new to this so any help is appreciated. Thanks!

Re: 8 Lug to 5 Lug conversion

The 8 lug c 20-25 stuff is a similar design but it will go a lot smoother if you start off with a 73-87 c10-15 with 1 1/4 rotors
I believe the ball joint tapers are different sized and the sockets in the lower control arms are usually different so by the time you make every thing fit you are better to start with the right parts

I agree, this is the better way.

Although as an alternative, the '88-'98 1500 and light duty 2500 spindles, balljoints, rotors, calipers and such will fit the earlier C20 control arms. The 1500 rotors will give you 5x5 bolt pattern and the light duty 2500 will give you a 6x5.5 bolt pattern.
