window roller upper posts

ok I know the title makes me sound like a 5th grader but really dont know what they are called but i need new ones. it the pice that the window cranks go into with all the grooves and the clip. as you can see in the pics i dont have them cause they are stipped bad and the back yard window cranks aka vicegrips have not helped the situation so its time for replacements. were can i find them and do i have to replace the hole lift assembly or get just new posts? Thanks

I have had the gears inside behind the crank handle post strip before and was able to drill out the rivets on another car (ten years newer than mine) and bolt the piece onto my 66 El Camino. I think they are pretty widely used by GM so as long as the handle type is similar to yours if will probably work. Just take some depth measurements of yours before you hit the wrecking yard. Bring a cordless drill and you can just buy the small piece you need instead of the whole window regulator assembly.

You can convert to the older metal window crank handles that rarely strip out while you are at it. I cut my stock posts down so the older handles would fit but you could just install the older posts and matching handles. Check out my build thread for pics of what I am talking about.
