Brake upgrade question
Hey guys,
Anyone have any feedback on this big"ger" brake system? Pro's & Con's. Thinking about putting this on my '76 Blazer. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/mcgau...Q5fAccessories My primary concern, other than functionality, is if it changes the track width in the front. $800????? NO WAY. We have some vendors here that can do better for you. IMO, with a light vehicle like a Blazer you don't need to go to a larger brake even for towing moderate loads. Any trailer large enough to tax the brakes has it's own brake system. Jim

Which vendors? Do they include the drop spindle and all the other necessary hardware? I would be doing it as much for looks as function, but haven't committed to it though

Take a look in the suspension forum Niped. There are several threads going right now on big brakes. There is a post on that kit specifically.

grunion fabrication had the best deal ever on those things.. price might have gone up though.... it was like 100 bucks cheaper than summit racing and summits usually cheaper than everyone. as far as the track width.. it will increase it about 3/8 or so (the width of the rotor.

Okay...I actually talked to some McG. people and the track width in the front will actually narrow by about 1/4" to compensate for the drop. True?
