GMC Spid question

I read on another post last night that said that 67 GMC's don't have spids. That got me wondering about my 68, it doesn't have a spid or any evidence of one. My grandpa bought the truck in 71 and I don't think he would have pulled it out (it still has the tags on the axle and I know for a fact that he has had the cover off before). Thanks in advance for any help.

Re: GMC Spid question

I don't recall seeing any spids on 67 trucks, and very few on the 68 models.

Re: GMC Spid question

Most didn't but some did have the label. I have a few that I have collected. Here is one that I have from 67.

Re: GMC Spid question

Does it depend on the build plant or something?

Re: GMC Spid question

I don't know why. There are some other guys on here that know a lot about GMC's, they may chime in.
