Re: Gauge Layout, your suggestions...
Are you making your circle templates the hole size for the gauges or the actual out diameter of the bezel? Make sure it's the outer diameter as if you go by the cut hole size, you can run into clearance issues when you mount them.
Ask me how I know... Almost screwed myself on another project because of that.

Re: Gauge Layout, your suggestions...
I'd also take the steering wheel into account, If you can't see them while driving then there's no point... How about the regular setup with the dash pad that has three pods inserted?

Re: Gauge Layout, your suggestions...
What gauges are you going to install? Electric or mechanical? If electric you may want to consider the placement with EMI as a potential problem. All that means is, an electrical signal from one gauge may interfere with the performance of another one. Even a "hot" wire passing behind a sensitive gauge could cause it to give a false reading.

Re: Gauge Layout, your suggestions...
I like #1 on second post, also the last one.
the last one is sort of similar to what I've been wanting to do, minus a couple gauges. |

You will feel like you're flying a plane with all those gauges.
