Here is a picture of the buckets in my son's Burb. The picture is not the best but the buckets are really sharp.

Do these fit fine with the gas tank still in cab?

Yes, they came from the factory that way.

Re: Any one have any pics of blazer buckets and console in their truck

To end any confusion in this thread,Blazer buckets are no different than truck buckets. They are the same seats. The only thing different is Blazers and Jimmys have tilt forward passenger side mounts and trucks are stationary.

Re: Any one have any pics of blazer buckets and console in their truck

jondancer,

The tank does not interfere with the buckets. As mentioned they came from the factory with the tank in the cab.

Here is a pic of my son's 69 GMC and the tank is behind the carpet.

Re: Any one have any pics of blazer buckets and console in their truck

I know its an old thread but screaminchevypickup are those utility buckets in your truck? The shoulders look really square (or maybe its just the angle of the picture), was just wondering if they fit well with a console?
Also did trucks have the plastic backs on them?

No they are regular buckets! They look the same as all the other ones in this thread!!

4. Hugger CST, what color SEM matches Sandlewood?
1) Utility buckets are very squared off and flat seat bottom cushion...no recess in the foam like the regular buckets.
2)You can use any brackets...but you will have to drill holes and then reinforce them. Either 67-72 bucket brackets (truck or blazer (not utility)) will keep the seats just below the rear window. 73-up work but are taller (nice for people with longer legs)
3) I like the blazer brackets for both driver's and passenger seats. I don't need the forward adjustment as I need the seat as far back as it can get...the tilt forward allows access behind the seat either for the gas tank....or if relocated...for storage behind the seats...and for easy access to the jack and hardware on the passenger side
4) Hopefully hugger responds...I know the SEM parchment color is too light so you have to use something else to match...

I found a guy who had a set made very similar to the originals excluding the long brace....used angle iron cut to fit with capture nuts welded on for the seat to bolt into...
You could do something similar or just use large fender washers or similar to reinforce them.....

Sorry, they just looked more square, like I said maybe its the angle the picture is taken. I'm new to the bucket seat world so give a newbie a break.

No,trucks didn't have the plastic backs. 71/72 bucket seat backs are less tapered than 69/70s.

There's your answer. The other seats in the thread are 69/70.

1. Utility buckets can have the cushions modified, but the original ones are flat surfaced. The back has a tube frame at the edge and all came with steel backs that actually wrap over the side a bit. They are noticeably wider, too.
Here's a pic:

2. You would need the parts from the Blazer floor that accept the seat.
3. I guess if you moved the gas tank it would allow easier access behind the seat. You would only have access from between the seats without. The passenger seat flips right up to the dash/windshield. On the driver side the steering wheel will interfere. If tank is left in the cab,I see no advantage at all.
4. I don't know,ask Hugger CST

Re: Any one have any pics of blazer buckets and console in their truck

I know this is an old thread, but while researching original bucket seats I noticed this one mentioned that a console would not fit between utility buckets (with steel back cover). In my 71 K5, it has the original utility buckets (recovered) and a added console. Seats are still mounted original to blazer and console fits nicely between. Seats and console all function properly. Hope this helps any utility seat owners wanting a console.
