Emission Requirement in Maricopa County
Anyone know for sure what a 1980 Federal emissioned 3/4 ton requires equipment wise to pass? ie smog pump, cats, canister, yada-yada.

Re: Emission Requirement in Maricopa County
Don't know about a 80, but my 83 3/4 has no cats, no charcoal canister, but a smog pump and a bunch of lines to the exhaust manifold. I am in Tucson, and they check my truck with a fine tooth comb when I go in for emissions - one time they had the boss come out of his office and he spent 20 minutes with a flashlight under my hood. Surprisingly, I passed every year and its a big block gas hog, but I have all the emissions junk in place. Last time I almost flunked because it was raining outside (running rich) - got by on the idle test by like one digit, so don't do that.
