700r4 rebuild kit?
Where is the best place to order a kit at? Got one layin in the shop that needs rebuilt so I figure ill give it a shot. Havnt ever done one before but I watched them do it on powerblock. Doesn't look to awful bad.

Have you checked Jegs or Summit? I think they sell a TCI kit that makes a 700r4 pretty bullet proof.

I did check out summits kit but not jegs. Just wondering if there were any others out there.

Hate to bring up the e word ( e-bay ) but have you checked there ? Item # 350011351162 , this one is like $140.00 and they go up to $600. depending on what you are looking for.

For high performance I recommend Pro Built Automatics.Call and talk to Dana for recommendations.

thanks for the replys, ill be puting a stock vortec motor with a 480 lift cam and performer rpm air gap and 650 carb. so ill build it to hold 300hp and that should be fine.

The most expensive part is buying the special tools. You could spend $3-500 on those.

I rebuilt one, i used a kit from Auto Zone it was around $80, you need some of those tools. I built the presses to get the snap rings out of a couple spots but you need the tools for the o rings for sure, that what i skipped because they looked good but they were not and it lasted about 400 miles then the fluid pushed past the seals and thats all she wrote.

X2 on Bulkparts, I have used them several times. Get the upgraded basket while your at it, they don't cost that much more and its great insurance.
