Re: 63 fleetside longbox into a shortbed stepside?
yes, you`ll have to take the same amount out of the frame...some where on this site if someone has it stowed away has the link show you how to shorten the frame..

hmmm. that would be helpful haha. just wondering if its more of a pain to do it rather than just keep looking for a longbed.

It depends on how good you are at measuring, cutting and welding. Or if you can afford to pay a professional to do it for you. A frame splice isn't something you want to fail

Re: 63 fleetside longbox into a shortbed stepside?
lwb fleetside boxes are plentiful and available, since alot of owners are opting for the lwb-to-swb conversions, so I would keep looking. There have been many threads about converting a lwb frame to a swb, so you should be able to do a search for this information. Good luck and let us know what you do.
