Shining a grill surround?
Anybody know of a product that will shine up a 71-72 grill surround? I have a near perfect surround, but it's almost 40 years old so the shine isn't too great. thanks

Re: Shining a grill surround?
I believe they are bright anodized and there is no real way to shine that up. Seems like most guys are removing the anodizing and then polishing the underlying metal up. Search on here and you should find plenty of posts about this topic.

Re: Shining a grill surround?
I used Easy Off on mine, it takes a while and several coats and that’s the easy part. After that, you'll have fun trying to polish all that metal. Get your self a polishing wheel and some white compound and go to town. It will take some time ( that’s an understatement ) but when your done it will look better then when it was new. Every other week I use Mothers Aluminum polish on it to keep it looking good. I did not put any type of clear on it; I heard on here that it was not a good idea.
