gauge cluster
Just wanted some feedback. I want to convert my cluster to a gauge cluster but I don"t really want to spend $200 for a tach dash. I have heard that the tachs aren't that accurate anyway. What other tachs or options have you guys done? I am really not that found of The gauges as they don't have actual number markings on them. Would be interested in seeing Pics of other ideas.
Thanks |

You can do an early-mid 70's camaro tach. It goes in prety easy. I plan on doing it to my gauge dash. Someone has pics of one here somewhere.

I'm pretty fond of mine...you could do it with black guages so you don' have to paint the speedo and fuel guages.
All this can be done for less than 100 bucks. The tachs go for about 40-ish and I think I paid 30 bones for the 3 on the bottom. |

Here is a pic of what I did. The whole set of guages ran about $200 total. Tach, ammeter, voltmeter, oil pressure (mechanical), and temp. the hardest part was cutting out the plastic back panel to make room for the guage bodies and still retain the original speedometer and fuel guage.
By the way...does everyone else's 454 run about 210 with a 195 thermostat?
