What's hanging down behind the front wheel passenger side in the first photo?

Re: papas65
Nice start! Find a look you like and go for that.
FYI... that radiator says '64' with a junkyard crayon... It seems to be an earlier radiatior...60-62. But hey, if it works what the heck.. Congrats on the new project.

Re: papas65
Dig the truck - especially the floor pans and the righteous speaker set-up.

Re: papas65
Congrats on the truck. Welcome to the forum. What you want to do with the truck will all depend on your budget and your patience. LOL. I bought mine last september and I am still working on it. If you are looking for a nice fixed up daily driver, then start looking at the essentials first. If I had to do it again, I would make my first one a daily driver and fix it up along the way, learning as I went and buying another one to do a frame-off project. These are the coolest old trucks, but they all have issues that will leave you broke and banging ur head along the way. But I love every minute I spend working on mine, and that's the most important thing.

Re: papas65
Hey another Idaho Guy .. welcome to the Fun ..
Now the bad part----Daverod is in Pocotello and I am in Star .. That kinda puts you in the middle ..... Nice score on the truck It is a project for sure but It can be done just the way you want it. Personally The main issue for me is safety in building old cars. I want to stop as fast as other cars on the road and I want to feel safe at freeway speeds. I like seat belts, power steering , great brakes and dependable suspension. the bodywork can be done as much or as little as you decide. This forum has so many great ideas and styles of trucks , just kick back with your computer and spend some time checking out the many options guys have done and continue to come up with.. Re: papas65
I've had my truck for 3 years and have onle driven it about 200ft. Drove it off the trailer and in the basement and all hell started LOL. If it's running and driving make it safe with brakes and seatbelts. Upgrade to power steering. Drive it to local car shows and cruise ins and get some ideas. Enjoy it in the summer and collect the parts for the major mods and repairs that you would like to do. Then in the winter you can dig in. Like others have said spend some time here there are lots of ideas. It all hinges on budget and skills. Just my .02
BTW nice looking truck.

Re: papas65
Get it running and drive the hell out of it. It will let you know what it needs. I would'nt tear the whole thing apart unless you don't want to drive it again for a long time. It's easy to stick every penny you have in these old trucks. Fix it up alittle at a time and enjoy it as you do. Welcome. Going to Motorfest in Boise? It's coming up in july. I'm diggin the center channel, classic rat rod look. Kick the old ladys car out of the garage and give that thing a home out of the weather. Looks like it deserves it.
