Picture request 4x4 front spring mount
Hi,
I am looking for pics of the front spring front hanger for a 65 4x4 truck. On the truck would be great, also trying to see an approximate location of where they are hung in relation to the front body support. Pictures of the front spring rear mount (the one that goes through the frame) also appreciated. |

Re: Picture request 4x4 front spring mount
How about a straight on close up that shows full frontal so i can get placement of shackle hanger in relation to the core support mount.
Appreciate it. |

Re: Picture request 4x4 front spring mount
Thanks a ton, the first two pics are exactly what i was looking for. Last question. Can you tell me the distance between the front spring mount hole and the center point of the hole cut in the frame for the front spring?

Does your 64 not have an emergency cable? Measuring mine it puts the center about where the cable fot the emergency brake goes.

43 1/4" between the center of the ( front ) spring mount to the center of the (front ) rear spring mount hole.

Re: Picture request 4x4 front spring mount
Emergency cable was removed for painting. It goes through the slotted hole above the ( front ) shackle. The slotted hole in the second picture.

Re: Picture request 4x4 front spring mount
The center of the shackle mount through the frame is approximately 5 1/2" from the face of the front cab support.

Re: Picture request 4x4 front spring mount
I'm a little late to the party, but here are some more shots. Saw your post at work and just snapped these when I got home. Figured since I've already got 'em ready I'd share too. Sorry if they're redundant.

Re: Picture request 4x4 front spring mount
LilRed, in picture 3 what is the reddish orange color? Did they miss areas when sandblasting, or is that area blasted harder than the rest?

Re: Picture request 4x4 front spring mount
The discolored area is where a small area has turned. The K20 frame is going in self-etching primer in a few days, so no more flash-out.

Re: Picture request 4x4 front spring mount
One more measurement if I could please.
We decided to fab these up instead of purchasing a stock set and then having to modify for the 73 through 84 spring. So could i get the measurement from the bottom of the frame to the center of the shackle bolt? Or from the bottom of the mount flange that mounts to the bottom of the frame to the center of the shackle bolt then the thickness of the material used for the mount. Either way would be fine. I really appreciate it guys. Last edited by biohazardbill; 06-09-2010 at 07:49 AM. |
