I HATE posts like this...if you don't have anything to add or you don't feel like finding the answer for him, why be nasty like this...and just so you know, this is a nasty post...and it's not helpful at all...I'm sure he knows to search, but sometimes it's just easier to ask...also, you think the board would have the traffic it does and people posting like they do if we all just searched for our answers and noone asked and contributed...that's two new members, less than 20 posts, and posts like yours tend to run new members off...

Re: Seat cover and carpet

I was able to find a small shop locally to do acceptable work for my old driver at less than the lowest materials cost online. If you want exact OEM down to the number of stitches, thread count, etc. then you will likely pay a lot wherever you buy. Since I don't have a show truck, just a nice looking close to OEM look is OK with me. If I were you, I would check with a local upholsterer and get an idea of what it would cost to redo your interior at various levels of quality. Chances are you will find a good upholsterer locally and help out your local economy and save some $$. The upholsterer I went to also had chairs, boat seats, sofas, etc. all being done in the same shop, so he was not an automotive specialist, but I liked his work on my truck. Also, he did some special things for me, like use denser and thicker than stock seat foam on the seat bottom, and covered an aftermarket seat console I use in my truck. From a financial point of view, spending thousands of dollars for an interior on a $2500 truck does not make sense to me - but I know others value their truck beyond $$ - each to his or her own.

Sorry folks.....It has been brought to my attention that this is no longer the P.C thing to say and more detail should be given.. It was not done in mallace and perhaps I should have explained. With "new post" button now only giving 4 pages of new posts instead of the 12 it use to, a lot of posts are NEVER seen if you traffic that way. I have posted questions that were never seen or answered by occasional users. Way more information can be found by hitting the search area first. I dont know why we now only get 4 pages instead of the 12 but it really stinks and a lot of stuff gets missed. I will no longer recomend the search area in such a "to the point manner". I am sorry I have upset some seasoned members and led astray some new ones. It was not my intention. I should have kept going or said " Welcome to the board, Im sure there will be some good information to follow...however, using the search button above will get you in the archives and render you a plethera of old posts with lots of good information. If you are unsure how to use this function, please contact me and I will be glad to help you.

So...with that said......get your carpet from ACC and I have bought all my seat upholstery from board member (Atheys) except the budget vinyl 72 style seats I use for my daily drivers and I get them from LMC. You wont beat the price and they seem to hold up well!

Re: Seat cover and carpet

I've been watching ebay on the carpet side. I'm actually taking my seat in to have it reupholstered at a local shop he is going to refoam and fix any seat defects and recover for only 275 with an original cover for my 83. I'd say check ebay for the carpet when it comes to seat coverings though look at one of the vendors on the site because you will want something pretty stout.

Seems fine to me. I would have liked to see a zipper on the back seat cover instead of hog rings. I believe most places sell the same manufacture of the seatcovers. It took about a month for brothers to get it to me.
