Re: Price Crazy!
here's his verbage....:
Hey guys, now this is Barrett Jackson material when its completed!! I'm selling a 1960 Chevy limo / carryall. I was told only a handful of these were made. I know for a fact that this was made buy chevy because it has a production plate on the driver's side kick panel (see pics below). The production plate states: "manufactured by chevrolet division general motor corporation......gvw 10,000 lbs wheel base 133". It has three doors on the left and four doors on the right. It has some broken glass and rust on the bottoms of the doors. I believe it has a 350 motor with 4spd transmission. I have an Oregon clean title for it. Located in Hayward. $9,900 707 689-0138 ....I can guarantee him that it is no longer a 133 inch wb, and that one of the coach builders built it, most likely stageway.... there has been a green one from yosemite that has been for sale for 7k+ for years now. and I have seen several come across this board in the 1500-2500 range in the last year. unfortunately they are neat, but no one has room to park one, so they don't sell.

Re: Price Crazy!
I often wonder about ads like this. I guess the production plate must be the ultimate authentication. Apparently the guy has never heard of Armbruster Stageway conversions. Just because something is rare, doesn’t mean it’s desirable. Not sure what it would be worth in perfect, mint condition, or how many buyers would be breaking down the doors wanting to own it. Might make an interesting camping conversion for $800.
With that much sheet metal and rusty doors, it could easily cost $50k to restore and end up worth $15-30k? Not sure where a $9900 initial investment fits in. After the buyer gets beyond the price, they get to address the potential problems with an out of state title.

Re: Price Crazy!
I like the one from Yosemite better. It's got history.

Re: Price Crazy!
I'd hate to be a tire kicker and waste the guy's time but I may go over this weekend to see it so I could say that I've seen one for real! He might just make more money keeping it and charging admission to see it!

Re: Price Crazy!
I think they are ugly and I dont want one; I would take it if I was paid that much to get rid of it.
