72 bench seat that folds forward?

Guys I am curious about something. I am looking to buy me a 67-72 bench seat to put in my 72. I have moved the gas tank to under the back bed, so I want a seat that folds forward just for the convenience of getting behind the seat easy if I put something like speakers back there. I have seen some benches that fold and some that do not. Could someone explain what years made the difference in the seats and why some fold?

Re: 72 bench seat that folds forward?

Sorry I dont have a pic, but it is very easy to make your seat fold forward. There is a bracket on each end of the seat that has 3 large screws in it. you can take out 1 screw (the center one) from each side of the frame of the seat, this will allow a seat to fold forward! Sometimes the bracket is out in the open and sometimes it is covered by the seat cover. hope this helps. good luck

If you search the forums you will find many posts on the conversion. When I bought my truck they had already moved it from behind the seat, but it was in the back bed in a large cheap aluminum tank. I bought one of the blazer tanks to move it under the bed. I still have not made a decision on how to plumb it, but its back there. Check out my sig if you would like to see it.

Check out the 67-68 models. Most of the fold forward seats i have seen came from those years.
