Any way to identify a 71-72 grille as NOS or repop?
Hi All,
I have a unmounted 71-72 chevy grille assembly (surround and insert) that I was told is NOS bug no box/packaging/stickers are on the grill. Person was original owner of a 71, sold it a long time ago, and had this grille for it, but never redid the truck. In his words, he says NOS parts. Was wondering if there was a way to identy OEM part or repop? |

Re: Any way to identify a 71-72 grille as NOS or repop?
John,
Other than original packaging or GM stickers there isn't a really good way to distinguish repop from NOS. I had the same thing happen last year...new parts but no markings or packaging I ended up taking the old fellow for his word that they were NOS. With the price I paid for them it was still a good deal even if it was repop stuff. Here's a link to when I asked this same question last year. http://67-72chevytrucks.com/vboard/s...d.php?t=366102

Someone told me that the repops do not have these dents along the top, but I have never seen a repop to verify it.
