Only if your truck was built in Scotland. They invented copper wire

I would
Two Scotsman got in a fight over a penny and invented copper wire. They would have wired it together but that came in the 70's models

Re: Copper/ Brass Nuts?

One reason someone used copper nuts/bolts is they do not rust.
FWIW...Copper nuts are OE on my old ford tractor exhaust manifold.

Have fun....don t. .....

Re: Copper/ Brass Nuts?

Check the nuts with a magnet. Plating of bolts and nuts with copper was done to prevent rust.

Re: Copper/ Brass Nuts?

I probably went too far, but I had mine re-plated. I don't know why they copper plated these nuts, but if that's how they were, that's how mine's gonna be.
