which way do springs go back in?

putting my front suspension back together and i wanted to kno if the small side of the spring goes toward the top or bottom??

The small side will go to the top... If you look up inside the hole where the spring goes, there should be an inverted "cup" that positions the top of spring. On the bottow, there is a "channel" that ends at about 12 o'clock (looking towards the middle of the truck. This channel positions the end of the spring at the bottom. Let us know how you make out.
