71 C10 build
Me and my dad just got this truck to build, it has already had a pretty good bit of work done to it and the guy lost interest so we took over. It has a 350 bored .30 over flat top pistons, double hump heads and a performer rpm intake, small cam and a small stall, with a th350 We need a carb fuel tank(pump), plugs and wires and all the accessories to start it. Also needs the front fenders painted fender wells put in and painted grille etc. then some paint. Also needs some shocks, has drop spindles and springs along with disc brakes up front, new wiring harness has been installed. Has a tilt steering wheel factory air cab, and i've been told the seats are pretty rare that are in it. I'm sure i forgot some stuff but i'll post up some pics so you guys can see what we have to work with.
IT'S ALIVE!!!!!! updated pics- installed shocks and sparks plugs today also installed distributor since pics were added Parts ordered- Distributor hold down, plug wires(be here tommorow) fuel tank is still up in the air and getting a price on a carb one holley 650 and a edelbrock. some interior shots And still a bunch of parts!! home sweet home put in distributor since pic was taken Extra parts while i'm here this is my other toy and constant project. Re: 71 C10 build
Good find, looks like you have a real nice truck! Cab looks in very nice condition, no rust in the typical areas.
Nice Ram Air also, I'm still trying to talk the wife in to letting me get one. Keep the pice coming... Justin

Re: 71 C10 build
Its amazing what 5.00 in sand paper and 8.00 in paint can do!
These wheels have been under my dads bench in his garage for prob. around 10 years? maybe more. what i started with little sanding And some paint Letting them dry Little polish on the chrome Tommorow i'm going to paint the inside of the wheels and try and find some tires to stick on them. |

Re: 71 C10 build
Well i still haven't put the wheels on but i have gotten a few goodies put on
things i've installed Holley 570 street avenger- Taylor plug wires, Distributor hold down, and starter. Plug wire looms will be here tommorow along with a different air breather, fuel tank ordered. I'm thinking i don't like the fuel line set up that came with the holley so i'm going to order there stainless lines. Also fuel pump will be ordered tommorow. And some pics....... I can't wait to get some wire looms i hate clutter! |

Re: 71 C10 build
Well its been a while since i posted have been working on this thing alot lately. Here are some pics so you can see the progress. I spent this weekend making a throttle cable, wiring up a few things, getting the oil pressure line and sensor hooked up and looking for a belt.
it don't look this dirty without the flash. New fuel line setup, trans cooler lines installed and fuel pump starting to look more like a running motor Can't Wait to hear it run!! theres a P/S pump down there somewhere( i still need a pressure line the one i ordered from summit wasn't right.) No more parts in the bed( its at the body shop getting lights shaved and the top of the bed rails will be shaved.) And thats my dog actually being good for a minute. My project next week getting that tank squared away. Brothers fuel tank kit. Need to figure out the alternator its a one wire so i figure i don't need the regulator anymore.
