Need opinions on a K5 with a 6.5 diesel motor please.
Hey all,
I found a decent '82 model K5 that has a '97 6.5 diesel in it with about 75K on it. The price is reasonable for the shape it's in. I'm just not familiar with the 6.5 motor. When it comes to diesels I've always been a powerstroke guy. It had a tranny rebuild about 1000 miles ago. It has new axles, 3/4 ton in the rear, lift (all springs, no blocks), new drive lines and U joints, new brakes, The blazer is pretty clean inside and out and the price is $3500. Any opinions would be appreciated. Thanks, |

The 6.5 is a good LIGHT duty diesel. Decent fuel economy(around 20+) and ok power. Its no power house by any means but its better that a stock 454 IMHO. Price seems good if the body is good.

Also hopefully they took off the electronic injection pump and put the mechanical on. If not make sure the pdm is move off the injection pump to the bumper or inner finder.
