SPID information.

I recently purchased a 1969 C-10 4x4, this is my first C-10 and I have been searching the site for information but have been unable to locate. The original SPID was removed by the previous owner during a repaint and was misplaced. I have been looking at a tread that has pictures of different SPID's and have noticed that all have a Model#. Where does this model# come from and is it listed anywhere else on the truck? I am considering having a new SPID created and would like to include as much accurate information as possible. Did they use a cowl tag on trucks like they did with Chevrolet cars?

I am also searching for information on the original colors that were available for my truck in 1969. Any information is appreciated. Thanks Rod

Also member chipflyer makes authentic SPID repro's. Heres the color code chart.

Link to chipflyer spid's http://outintheshop.com/2.html

chevy and gmc trucks had vin plate on door jamb rather than cowl.

Re: SPID information.

Thanks for the info. http://outintheshop.com/options.html is the site I intend on using for my new SPID, I was just curious if there was some other place I could find the Model# because my original SPID is gone.

Re: SPID information.

If your truck is a C-10 4x4, the first part of your model is KE10xxx. Is your truck a fleet side or step and is it a long wheelbase or short? That info will help tell us what your model is.

Re: SPID information.

Matt,
I am going to say your model is a KE10734 if it has the V-8 engine. If you have a 6 cylinder, it would be a KS10734.

This should help you understand the model number VIN decode

Re: SPID information.

Thanks Jeff. I will contact you directly at your website when I get my other options together and I am ready to order.

Did they have a cowl tag on these trucks with paint codes and other information? If this truck had one it is long gone.

No cowl tags. They have the spid in the glovebox door, and sometimes the build sheet is in the seat frame somewhere.
