67-72 factory fuel door in bed?

My '70 Chevy fleetside shortbed mutts passenger bed side has a fuel door.

I know there's not much that's still stock on the truck but the bedsides do match the cab....I mean,it looks like 67-72 bedsides.
But I've not seen another with a fuel door in this spot.

Also, the door itself has a decal that says "Diesel Only" & there doesn't seem to be any room for a filler tube.

Did Chevy have an in bed fuel door in this spot as an option?

Nope, GM never had fush mount ones like this stock. Looking at it, it looks like a late '70's to '87 door setup that was grafted in.

Agreed! Only exception I know of was the Mexican C10 which did have a filler neck in the driverside bedside.
