Removing the blue film off of new chrome?
I have some new chrome that came with a car I purchased and it is still in the wrapper with the blue film on it. I think its actually stainless steel, but anyways, the blue film has been on this chrome for 2-3 years I'm guessing. I think it has been baked in the sun for a while because the glue is stuck to the chrome. Does anyone have any tips to removing this film easily? Its coming off but just a tiny piece at a time and the glue is still on the chrome. This is the chrome that goes around the windshield. Any tips? I don't want to spend my next vacation cleaning the glue off.

Some kinda solvent, I would use lacquer thinner.

Goo Gone. You can get it at Home Depot.

x2 on the Goo Gone. Excellent product. Works very well with old tape or stickers.

Re: Removing the blue film off of new chrome?
Thanks for the tips guys. I feel like a dumba$$ though..... I tried a few different things to see what would soften the glue and not much helped. I came up with the brite idea of soaking it in water and with just a water hose spraying it, it came right off. Alot of frutstration to find out water dissolves the glue. I guess I know next time. My momma always said that I was brite, thats why she called me son.
