72 suburban cut down to blazer
i have a 72 blazer with a pretty much destroyed frame. also have a 72 suburban frame laying around. anybody know how much and where to cut the suburban frame to make it work? everything appears to be similar exept the rear spring hangers, and body mounts. any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: 72 suburban cut down to blazer
took it into my own hands........ cut 23 inches out of the center of the frame rail, welded and plated it. turned out pretty good!

Re: 72 suburban cut down to blazer
6 or 8 suburban front leafs, not sure because they came from a donor...rear now has 63 in stock rears off of a 2003 2wd chevy pickup, 6 inch shackle and a ord shackle flip.. kind of a whole lot of mix and match. moved the rear axle back about 3 1/2" inches with the rear 63" springs, leaving the stock spring hangers in the suburban location. crossover and high steer is complete now and the four wheel mico lock is installed...

Re: 72 suburban cut down to blazer
Yeah finally boat sided it and built the cage, unfortionatly I purchased a 49 willys cj2a that is going to replace this blazer now. I will finish wheeling it throughout this summer and it will be getting stripped this winter to build the willys... Im torn though because I love this rig, shouldnt have to worry about body damage on the jeep though. ha
