Question about Grilles?

Okay so my grille is in really bad shape and I don't think it is repairable. So I found this 69 model with an excellent grille on it in my home town and the guy is pretty sure that he is willing to trade it for my grille plus some cash.

I really don't want to spend the $900.00 that LMC is asking for the lettered grille, so my question is what would be a fair cash price plus my grille) for me as the buyer of the used grille and him as the seller?

Also from everything I can see in the catalog there is know difference in the 69 C10 and 70 C20 grille is the correct?

Re: Question about Grilles?

The inserts are different from a 69 to 70 grille, they will inetrchange just the pattern is a litle different. There is no difference c-10 to c-20 I believe. I dont know what prices are like in Tx but up in PA you can stille get a good grill out of a junkyard for $50 or less depending on condition.

Hope that helps

Re: Question about Grilles?

the orignal 69-70 outer shell has black painted trim lines that go all the way to the headlights..The repo's don't go out that far. That is how you tell an orignal gm shell.

They are not 100% is how they can reproduce them..I would not pay 900 for one..There are still some good ones out there..You can buy a running parts truck for the grille for 900 bucks
