My new trailer
Hello all. Just joined (yes I hit the intro thread first) and have a question for you all. I bought a homemade trailer this weekend and intend on using it as such. It is a 1970-'72 long bed with the toolbox. My question is what should I do with the chrome, molding and box. I'm not an old truck guy but am all to familiar with how hard some old parts can be to acquire and since this trailer will be a work trailer I have no need for the parts. Would it be worth the time to take them off and sell or just leave them on. The door to the tool box is a rust nightmare but the inside box looks great. The molding on the door is gone but the rest looks OK. I've included a few pic's (cell phone, sorry) to give you an idea.

Re: My new trailer
Welcome from a former resident of the 'burg! I think the toolbox doors are worth a few bucks in good condition, and I suppose the small trim pieces on either side of it might be a little scarce but I don't think it'd be worth your time to mess with the trim.

Re: My new trailer
I would leave it alone. Just put a tailgate on it.

Re: My new trailer
The trim will all come off as I'm going to do a little body work, smooth it out and paint it. The toolbox may stay though. I'll need to fabricate a door I guess but that shouldn't be to hard as I'm not going for originality, just a straight and clean trailer. Thanks for the input guys.
