Disc Brake Hoses (need help)

Greetings all,

I'm in the middle of converting my '70 to '71/72 disc brakes. I have a '70 shop manual, but that doesn't help. Can someone post a picture of the correct routing of the front disc brake hoses from the calipers to the frame connectors. I'm not sure if I have the right hose on the right caliper and visa versa. It doesn't look right for some reason.
.
P.S. I also cut one coil from the front spring and am using a 2-1/2" dropped spindle.
.
For those who remember, I finally got the correct left side spindle from Western Chassis/via PerformanceonLine/via The Car and Truck Shop. Yes, It took three different companies to correct the problem. I must have really bad luck with vendors. (And it was their mistake)
.
Any help would be appreciated.

Re: Disc Brake Hoses (need help)

I don't have a pic handy, but when I did mine, with about that same drop, I used '72 style brake lines and mounting tabs, which routes the brake line in front of the engine saddle. The '72 style tabs mount on the front side of the saddle, and I had to move them a little closer to the caliper than the stock '72 location. When you lower one, it tends to stretch the rubber line unless you move the tabs closer. I have a friend with a '72 who went through the same issue.

Re: Disc Brake Hoses (need help)

Thanks Wynne,

That what I needed. Maybe I have the banjo fitting backward? The hose doesn't lay flat against the caliper. Is that correct?

I really appreciate the pics and later in the day, (still too hot for this old bod!), I'll give it another go.

Thanks again.
