Tracking Arm The Cause
My truck recently started making noise when hitting decent size bumps, I shook the bed from side to side and it sounds like it is loose. It doesn't make the noise up and down though. I had a friend check out under it while I shook it, he held on to the tracking arm and the noise disappeared. Would this cause all of that noise? I have some new bushing from another truck I am putting on this weekend, the old ones are pretty much gone.

Re: Tracking Arm The Cause
It could be as simple as loose nuts on your ubolts.
I craweled under mine last night and discovered the same thing. It would make all kinds of creaking sounds going over bumps - even when I jacked up the front end all kinds of creaks - looks like the ubolt with loose nuts will be the cause and the cure

Re: Tracking Arm The Cause
Mine was making the same noise and I found that the nut on the bolt holding the track arm to the frame was real lose.
I took the arm off checked it out and put it back on making sure every thing was tight and the noise was gone.
