Installing control arm bushing

Hello everyone,

I am in the process of doing a front end rebuild on my 70 half ton using Moog parts. I have been trying to install the bushings in the control arms for a couple of hours and getting frustrated. I understand that the shaft needs to stay centered in the control arm. It is easy to get one of the caps installed and seated properly. But when I try the other side it is really difficult to get the threads on the shaft to synchronize with the cap so it will thread into the control arm and not bind up. Is there a trick to this?

Are you greasing them up prior to install

Good idea. I had a little oil on them, but I will try a liberal coating of grease and see if that helps.

When I did mine, I had to turn each one a little, then go to the other and thread it in a little.... back and forth between the two caps.

+1 on the grease. Just a lil bit. And BE CAREFUL, those things will cross thread if you look at them crosseyed!
