Master Cylinder Bad?
I went to replace my front brake hoses today, and as soon as I disconnected the passenger side brake hose, fluid began running out of the steel brake line. It continued to run until it drained the front reservoir of the master cylinder completely. I don't know for sure, but I wouldn't think that this should have happened.
Please advise!

Nothing unusual with this. Perfectly normal.

Re: Master Cylinder Bad?
On another note. I think my proportioning valve is sticking. Occasionally, the brake light comes on, and won't go off until I hit the brakes hard. I usually hear something click when that happens. Is there anything that I can do to fix this, other than replacing the proportioning valve?

Re: Master Cylinder Bad?
Negative. Not yet. Could that cause the proportioning valve to stick?

Re: Master Cylinder Bad?
It may be that the "188,000 miles, give or take" caused the proportioning valve to go bad.

Re: Master Cylinder Bad?
That's kinda what I was thinking. It doesn't look like regular auto parts stores sell them either. . .and at LMC they're quite pricey.
