Super custom 1500
A first time I've seen this emblem. One reason why I enjoy these trucks.
I didn't see anything else on the truck that was out of the ordinary to make it a SUPER CUSTOM. It had non chrome vents, tinted glass, tach, automatic, sm block, Short/B with chrome front n rear bumpers, no AC. But the present owner had added the chrome frt/ rear bumpers and tilt, the tach could have been added at some point. So with no options on the SPID to look at what makes them a SUPER CUSTOM 1500?

Re: Super custom 1500
My 72 GMC 4X4 is a "GMC SuperCustom 1500" only because I liked the looks of the emblems when I ordered them! Maybe those were replaced as well? I am also interested in what makes one an authentic SuperCustom?

Re: Super custom 1500
I believe the super custom package is the equivalent of the custom deluxe package.

Re: Super custom 1500
I am no expert, but I have a 72 Custom Deluxe. I was told it had a Custom exterior package, upper and lower molding and front and back chrome bumpers, and chrome mirrors. The Deluxe is the interior, houndstooth interior (think that is how it is spelled) with the western scroll, and the western scroll door panels. Mine has no tach., no A/C, no tilt also for options. To me the exterior would be a up grade and the interior a base package. I just got it 6 months ago and have built Chevy cars all my life, so I am going out on a limb with that answer.
