Coolant hose to throttle body.
I know alot of people say it's needed but I am trying to see if anyone has just plugged it with no issues. I have an air lift to fill the coolant system with so air bubbles arent an issue. It will not get cold enough here for the t.b. to need it either. So, is it really needed or not? Any help would be great. Thanks guys.

I ran mine from the steam line cross over pipe back into the water pump. I have run several back to the upper radiator hose and the top tank with out any overheating issues. The line runs from the throttle body to at least mid tank on the stock radiator so air probably isn't much of a concern. Lots of the Ls guy bypass the TB so it shouldn't be much of a problem. Jay

My 2005 motor came with all blocked, no line to the TB.

If you do that, at least leave the ports open while you add coolant and purge air from the system. I've heard (not experienced) that steam/vapor can get trapped and affect cooling if it's not vented. I'm like you though, can't hurt to try without long as you're watching temps. Let us know how it goes.

Are you talking about bypassing the hose through the TB, or doing away with the steam line altogether?

I dont care about the steam pipe from head to head just trying to clean up the install a bit by not running the hose from the throttle body to the radiator.

Gotcha. It doesn't have to pass through the TB. In fact, your can just grind that whole bit off of the TB to clean up the looks, as it's not ported through the TB at all. It's more of a heat sink just hanging off of it.
But personally, I wouldn't do away with the line from the heads to the radiator/heater hose/expansion tank, where ever one prefers to run it. I would think that even with pulling a vacuum to fill the system, there is still a risk of getting a bubble in one side the system (one head or another) from the hot/cold cycle of pushing fluid into the overflow reservoir when hot, then possibly pulling air back in when cool if the tank runs low. The manifold on an old small block would let an air bubble circulate out the top, but without that line in place the Gen III's can't do that. At the very least I would run a short line to the water pump.

Mine doesnt run from the head to the radiator at all. It runs from head to head and to the t.b. and then to the radiator. Thats why I was wondering if I could just plug the t.b.???

If you are just wanting to bypass the TB, yeah, go for it! Like I said, it is not ported through the TB, it's just like a heat sink hanging off of it, so cut that puppy off and grind it smooth. It really cleans up the looks of the TB a bunch.
