need help with my 454
I am putting my 454 together and i have run into a problem, when I bring number one piston to tdc my timing mark on the balancer is pointing at the 5 o'clock position. has the outer ring on my balancer moved, do I have the wrong balancer ( is that possible), am I doing something wrong. Thanks for the help.

could be either of those ...... old balancers will slip if the rubber ring between the halves is wore out...

did you change your timing pointer maybe to a chrome or aftermarket one?- just reread your post.... I think you got the wrong balancer...

If the balancer is used, then I would say the outer ring has walked. I have run into this more than once myself.
