How is my body work going ? Should I take it down more or woill this give me a quality foundation for a ok paint job ?

Is my truck a original short bed ? The sticker in the glove box does not match my Vin palate and that scares me !

Are these drop spindles ? Got the whole cross memeber for $200 bucks, ohh I even got a prop valve...

Re: 3 Birds 1 Stone, body work, Vin Desipher and and drop spindles...

C=Chassis, 4x2
E=Engine type, V8
1=GVW range, 1/2ton
34=Model code, Fleetside pickup
Z=Assembly plant, Fremont
Z=Year, 1970
51521= Serial number

Thats what I found.

As far as the glove box goes, that could have been replaced by the PO from a different truck, for that matter you could have a totally different cab on the frame from original. Do you have a title that matches anything on the truck?

Whats up Evil Ways... The title matches the cabs vin number. The title says pickup, so I guess the vin doesnt tell you if it's a short bed or not... Thank Evil Ways...

From the back they dont look like drop spindles

check the frame on the driverside front there willl be a partial vin to see if the frame matches the vin, have you looked at the frame rails to see if it was cut down

the paint looks fine from here but usually you want origional paint and 1 repaint you should be good if its been repainted 2 or 3 times you may want to take it all the way down

No, those are not dropped spindles. They are stock as the spindle is near the bottom. Dropped spindles, the spindle center is about the middle between the upper and lower mounts.

Here are CPP modular dropped spindles to give you an idea.

OARNGESI, its og paint on the inside and one repaint in the outside, I don't see where it's been cut, where do they cut the frame when making a shot bed ? middle back ?

CHEVY_MIKE, THANKS FOR CONFIRMING... Ohh well is 200 still a good deal ? I got newer or rebuilt calipers, prop valve, newer ball joints and some lines...

Thanks guys !

$200 seems like a good price to me. I'm in the process of rebuilding/converting my 69 to 71-72 front end parts. The upper ball joints alone cost me more then that. I'd say you made off pretty good on that deal. That's just my opinion though.
