Vortec heads $50 ea. (not me selling)

One of the guys I carpool with says he can get me vortec heads for $50 per head used at Walt & Verns. He has connections there(he used to work there). So I was wondering what a good vortec manifold costs and where to get it? All the manifolds I have seen say nothing about the vortec heads. If anyone else wants some of these heads I will ask him if he can get more than one set, remember these are used and untouched pulled off of the motor and sold. I being these might be a great deal he might only get a couple of sets. I have no idea what Walt & Vern's usually sells them for. I'll post again with more info.

You can get an Edelbrock performer intake with the Vortec specific bolt pattern for about 165.00 They also sell the performer RPM. Or you can get an intake from GMPP but I dont know prices on those. Realize that you will also have to buy self-aligning rocker arms and center-bolt valve covers. If they are true L31 heads that is a pretty good buy.

thats an outstanding deal. Im interested in them. Ill take a set and really work em over, cutting up the ports and all that good stuff. I just got a wealth of vortec flow info from a guy at GMPP

PS- a RPM intake for vortec's cost me $179 at checkers autoparts.

Nope, but the 350 project is getting started!!
A set of Vortec heads will allow me to finish the 350 while I save up for the AFR 190's!!

I HOPE WE CAN GET MANY SETS

I hope this will work out for us too, if I can only get limited sets like it sounds like I will, I will go on a first post -first receive basis. Just to be fair, I do hope he can get enough sets for all of us. But remember these are used and will be sold "as is" if they need to be rebuilt.....so be it.

I'm actually selling the block I have on the stand now. My mom bought me a '94 Chevy motor. This block should be able to accept a roller cam which is a greater benefit. I'm also buying a house at the end of month. Crossing my fingers. So now that I may have a two port garage, BAD BOW is getting some work done!!! Especially a front end rebuild. The front tires need replacing soon.

OK I asked "him" about the heads and he kind of hemmed and hawed about them, this might be hard trying to get him to call his buddy down there. I will keep on buggin' him till I get a striaght forward answer. I would really hate to leave all of you guys waiting for nothing..... Sorry this is taking so long.

Well I found out that he can get them for $85 a pc. not too good of a deal now. He is a kid who wants everyone to like him so he embelishes his stories a little bit. Parts he claims he can get,he
rounded down too far. Sorry guys. You can probably get them just as cheap through a junkyard near you if not, let me know I will go down there myself and get them.
