Carrier bearing noise
I am getting noise from my carrier bearing. I recently did a 4/5 static drop and as soon as I rolled down the driveway I could hear a high pitched noise. Lifted the truck up on jack stands and turned the rear wheels and determined it was the carrier bearing. I replaced the noisy culprit and still have the same problem just a different noise. The front part of the drive shaft has 1 degree of angle, higher in the rear. The rear has 3 1/2 degrees of angle, it is higher in the rear also. I have placed my angle finder on the driveway and it has less than 1 degree of slope. Does anyone have suggestions, thoughts, etc on how much i need to shim the pinon angle to correct this issuue. Thanks.

Re: Carrier bearing noise
Can you just shim the carrier bearing?
By lowering the truck you have "flattened" out the drive shaft,... making it straighter and longer. Stock Car Products, does make pinion shims for trailing arms,... which I assume you have. http://www.stockcarproducts.com/trkarm1.htm

Re: Carrier bearing noise
Thanks for the response, I shimmed it with some washers until I found the amount that seemed to work. I am seriously considering changing to a 1 pc shaft in the near future. Thanks for the link on the shims, I will need some...
