A Question.. again

I did a search through the forums and I couldn't find an answer..
Of course, it's entirely possible I didn't know the correct topic to search for..

Anyway, here it is..
I've seen many pictures of the dashes in these trucks..
The gauges on the bottom, the second from the right always seems to be a filler.. a dummy backing.
Did Chevrolet ever put anything in that gauge hole at the factory?
Was it for an optional gauge?

Re: A Question.. again

So why then do most trucks with the "Gauge Package" not have that?

...gauge package only means the package beyond the most basic option. This one only had dummy lights for the OIL/TEMP. If you opted for the basic 'Gauge Package," you then got a mechanical oil pressure, Temperature, and Ammeter gauges. The others (air/vacuum) were options with specialty packages.
