Dash Clock Color?
I am installing a dash top clock on my 67 GMC that looks close to what a artist rendering looks like in my 67 GMC dealer book. I have no clue is this is a factory clock just looks similar. anywhay i need help on what color to paint this clock. Should i paint it the same color as the dash pad or the dash paint? the paint behind the pad to the windshield is the same as the dash pad. Any thoughts on how this would have been finished if the factory would have done this? Rod.

Re: Dash Clock Color?
I quite like how that looks there, one thing though how does it look from outside of the windshield? I would definitely paint the main body of the clock Red and leave the trim ring around the face silver. And try and hide the wire maybe.

the wires get hidden. this isnt mounted yet. I just set it there to get an idea of what it would look like. I want to paint it first.

Re: Dash Clock Color?
i'd leave clock silver// the original factory accessory clocks also came with mounting hardeware to mount it on the steering column// i had quite a few of them a number of years ago, haven't seen one in a very long time

Re: Dash Clock Color?
Is it possible then that GM in Canada carried this clock over till 67. Maby they had too many left over from the previous years. It looks really close to the one in my 67 book. This i believe is a new clock. it works. I have no mounting instructions or box to date the year. but i have a new harness and it has 2 mounting pods. The 68 GM book doesnt show or mention a clock. anyway i am going to paint it red just not sure if the lighter or darker red yet.

Re: Dash Clock Color?
I have one of those clocks to, pictures of it in the weird options thread, if you open it up it may be dated on the inside .
