donor truck dilema

Hey all
I'm kinda new to this. Please correct me if my post is in the wrong location. I'm in the middle of my first attempt to rebuild a pickup. I've got a '68 shortwide tore down to frame right now. I recently came across an opportunity to purchase a dirt cheap, clean 86 short wide with a blown engine and trans. I'm undecide wether to use it as a donor or flip it. I'm pretty sure I can use the 5 lug disc/power brake system. Does anyone know if the 5 lug rear axles will slide into my '68 rear housing? What about the tilt steering column? I welcome any ideas that would drive me to tear this thing down for donor or fix and sell.

Re: donor truck dilema

axles no..
the 68 is a 12 bolt.
the 86 is a 10 bolt if 2wd
column I'm not sure but. I'd think there would be tons of tilt trucks if it worked..
