My "new" M1009

Both doors have dents, but it runs like a top and everything works - and its a blast to drive. I'm thinking a 3" lift and 33x12.50's will set it off nicely. And a soft top.

Thanks, Jim. But it doesn't look like Gomer will stick - nobody likes that name.

Thanks man, I got it on govliquidation for a great deal. There's still plenty of them out there - it's a lot of truck and fun for the few dollars they're fetching.

Re: My "new" M1009

Looking for one myself. There is one for sale locally that has been upgraded a little, A/C and such. Mind if you ask what you paid for it? I'm curious if what they are asking for locally is comparable to the what they go for on govliquidation. If I can find one I like I'm thinking 4" lift and 33's also. Any other plans beside the lift and tires?

Re: My "new" M1009

Eh, I think I stole it and don't mind posting the sale price. My winning bid was $1030. After fees and such it was mine for a few bucks over $1200. The gubmint will pass the fees on to you...

I really don't have anything big planned for it, other than the lift and tires all I really want is a soft top for it. I don't really care to add AC and a soft top will put it where I want it for a driver.

That is awesome! I'm looking at paying twice that for the one locally. Not many in this part of Texas though and when they do show up they typically sell pretty quick. Not many in Texas via govliquidation either. Best of luck with yours. Can't wait to see how it turns out.

That's a great deal.Your plans are right along the lines I plan for the "Civvy" I got this summer...something fun w/o a zillion dollar effort.
