LMC Parts

Hey guys , I just received my parts I ordered from LMC ... not too inpressed with electrical parts to be honest . Just about every part was Taiwan ... Any one ever hear of Suntex ?
Even non electrical came from China or Taiwan .

Not going to use the parts ... You get what you pay for ... I did expect a little more .
I just order from a local parts like a napa and was able to get a more quallity parts then what I received .
Learn from my mistake .

Re: LMC Parts

They look so cheap I could not install them . Piss thin plastic and just look cheap ... Why take the chance of a electrical fire , I'm not taking that chance .

Re: LMC Parts

Hey I bought a over flow tank from them that was dead on. But when I bought my a gas door for my burb it was useless. Would not fit at all. But I found one on the parts board. Your very right saying " you get what you pay for". Not saying jap parts are all bad but it's like a 50/50 chance. Least that's my take on it. Later Tom.

Re: LMC Parts

Sorry about wrong section ... I'm pretty good on the sheet metal I was able to find some NOS fenders but the rest of my truck is rust free .
I know I am not going to order any more electrical from them ... I am going to have to order window seals from them and hope they have some quality to them .

Re: LMC Parts

consider ordering the window seals from classic parts...they are much nicer and will price match if the price is different...

Re: LMC Parts

You must not realize that 95% of the parts you get from any restoration parts place are made in Taiwan. Very few parts are made in China anymore. I personally have had nothing but good luck with LMC parts.

Re: LMC Parts

I ordered brake lines from those LMC Clowns and they suck, and I will never buy anything from them again.
My rear hard lines came pretty fast, but the jack ass packaging them, bent them 180 degrees to get them into a small box...
THEN my front hard lines were back ordered for 4 weeks, they never mentioned it during the order...when they finally came they looked great...when i installed them, they curled them wrong at the master cylinder, so that the two hard lines curl into each other....not to mention I paid $20 for each shipment. LMC SUCKS.

most companys are gonna bend the long line's to fit a smaller box, it save's a lot on ship'n and if they dont FedX probly will any way.
I've bought quite a bit from LMC for my Dually, both S10's and an '95 I used to have. I've alway's been happy with the product and service.
on a side note: I recently order'd some stuff online from SpeedWay Motor's, it told me while I was place'n the order that 2 items would be back order'd and not charged to card at this time. while I was home on R&R a guy call's to let me know the item's are ready to ship and there would NO ship'n on them. I think thats pretty good service !

Re: LMC Parts

I've ordered so much from them I actually got a "thank you" card in the mail once, hand signed by about 15 or 20 employees. I've never had a problem with thier parts. From pre-bent trans lines, to headliners and carpet. Thier premium fog-light front bumper can be seen in my avatar to the left.

Re: LMC Parts

Does anyone know were to buy a complete set of weatherstripping, windowseals, doorglass runs, tailgate seals (and other rubber parts) for my 2X4 sub (with tailgate)(1976)? It must be shipped to the Netherlands, because that's where I live and drive my big old iron
I want a complete set to complete my truck.
LMC is not the best choice?!
Does any subexpert have an alternative

Thanks,

Mark

x2

Steele is right "up the road a piece" here in NC and makes all their own rubber extrusions on site.

I haven't installed their products on a 67-72 truck yet, but I've used or seen them on other cars and sometimes they fit/seal even better than factory.

Re: LMC Parts

k i agree with the "get what you pay for" idea, but i ordered 2 replacement back fenders, a rollpan, a headline, 2 cab corners, 2 front inner fenders from LMC and havent had the slightest problem..saw Taiwan on the box and was just glad they werent made in China for once...good packaging, affordable for anyone, and everything fits good so far..and i ordered 2 front outer fenders later, from Pro Body Parts, wherever that is..and i've got a ton of compliments on them..how they fit nice, how its an affordable easy way to fix up the truck without trying to get rid of rust, and they fit pretty good too..just need to make sure their lined up nice before you completely tighten down the bolts...they look nice....but back to LMC, i'm making another big list, this time with all new weatherstripping, single back window, new windshield, some dash stuff, new carpet, heat and sound insulation, lower door carpet, kick panel carpet, dash cover, interior door panels, window handles, armrests, door pockets, billet grille, 2" cowl hood, Chevrolet tailgate, and im thinking about new metal door skins even...other stuff i need for my 86 is rims and tires, new shocks, possibly some rearend parts, im thinking 3" Magnaflow exhaust maybe with electric cutouts and 4" diameter/18" long slashed chrome tips for each side...that should finish the truck up nice, and then its on to primer and paint, and i might shave the door handles....long list but give LMC a shot they have a huge selection for a lot of trucks...hope they give everyone as good of parts as they gave me....Eric

Why isn't LMC on here? The largest board supporting chevy truck restorations and one of, if not the largest vendors.

Re: LMC Parts

I have ordered from LMC lately and have done so on numerous occasions in the past, I ALWAYS call to verify in stock though. If I am looking for the best price on a "normal" part I go with CLassic Parts ( formerly Chevy Duty). They have very good CS and they sell the same stuff everyone else does at a little cheaper price. I have used Harmon's also but I am not a fan, they didnt tell me somethings were on BO until I get the package and looked at the packing slip, then I had to contact them.

That was me.

Gee...that's funny...the same lame LMC bent the rear ones from the center of the diff to the wheel cylinders...yet they didn't bend the longer front ones from the master cylinder to the proportioning valve...they must have just got the bigger boxes....OH...and I got to pay $20 for shipping and "handling" each time.

LMC SUCKS
