My 1st Chevy!!
I am new to the board and I do have to admit this is my first Chevy, I have wanted a 1967-72 Chevy truck for years, but never had the ability to get one, but finally I sold a great old toy to get this great old new toy. I have posted some pics, this is a 1970 Chevy SWB with a Chevy Small Block, 3 on the tree, no power stearing and drum breaks (soon to be updated) I am going to be pulling the engine out of it in the next couple of weeks to re-do all the seals, I will also be rebuilding the carb, replacing the heating element, cleaning up the engine bay, and who knows what else I will find!!
I am sure I will be reaching out and asking a bunch of questions for a long time to come, I hope you enjoy the pics. Thanks, Chevorton |

Re: My 1st Chevy!!
That is a nice one to start out with Chevorton. If mine had been so nice I would have been driving it long ago.

Nice, clean ride. Boog and I both are wishing our trucks were together and driveable. One of these days.....ONE of these days....

Re: My 1st Chevy!!
Thanks everyone for taking a look at my truck, I am very excited and I can't wait to get working on it.
I really like the color, I have not seen that color on any types of trucks around the Idaho area, but the paint job is good in some areas, not so good in others, someone painted it about 5 years ago and has some delaminating and heat spots, but is perfect for what I will be using it for. Eventually after I get the engine back into it I was planning on putting in Power Stearing and Disc Breaks, I also want to lower it 2 or 3 inches in the front, and 4 or 5 inches in the back. I will aslo need to re-do the bench seat in the front, and put a new carpet kit in it, that is what I have planned as of now, any suggestions on the lowering, and any other suggestions would be much appreciated. Also, I was asked what toy I sold to get this toy, I sold a 1974 Norton 850 Commando, it was a great old bike, but I did not use it enough, I would rather go dirtbiking then ride the road bike, so I decided I wanted another toy that I could actaully use everyday if I wanted. Thanks, Chevorton |

IMO... look into the 4.5/6" drop and upgrade to disc brakes up front. Check out my build thread (Project Blank Slate - in my signature below my post) for the complete install of the 4.5/6" drop; there's not c-notch required and would make that thing sit just right. Here's a quick preview of where I see your truck headed... Rallys vs. 20's...
