Project Black out
Ok,
I have been so excited to get to start my 67' C10 build. I picked this truck up a few months ago and now am starting to get to work. This will not be a cab off restore and will be a slow go but it will be fun and I can't wait for progress This truck has been neglected for some time and will take lots of little battles to win this war. I am starting with my suspension. I just received my lowering springs and shocks from CPP. I hope to have them installed this week. While I am down there I will be replacing my drum shoes and springs. It has a nasty dive when braking and flat out doesn't want to. I will keep you all posted. These are a few picks of when the day I picked it up. Sorry for the bad pics it was with my phone. |

Re: Project Black out
I had a chance to clean it up a little and get rid of that canopy.

Re: Project Black out
Sweet. That is a smooth truck as is. I really like the hubcaps, they give it that sled look. GET IT LOWER!!!

Re: Project Black out
The current springs look like they were heated and pancaked by the PO. I can't wait to get my suspension kit on there to actually see and feel the difference. I don't think the 3/4 will be enough but until I get disks up front thats what I got.

Re: Project Black out
That straight six looks so small in such a large engine bay. Very cool truck!

Re: Project Black out
The work began today on the brakes and suspension. I was able to reassemble my new shoes, spring kit and wheel cylinder.
I took my drums in to be turned and found that one had been turned too far and need to be replaced. Gotta love that. I also planned on starting my pulling off of the springs and shocks. After cleaning off what looked like forty years of build up and a couple trips away from the work to the parts store I didn't get the lower ball joints off to release the springs. Tomorrows a new day hopefully full of more work and less trips to the store. Last edited by dash13; 11-14-2010 at 12:51 AM. |
