Speck Sheet Question
I have a speck sheet question:
I know in 1970 when purchasing a new C10 Truck with no upgrades to the engine you would get stock the 307 small block, but if you decided to upgrad your engine you could either get the 350 small block or 400 big block. My question is, if you upgraded to the 350 or 400 would that be on the speck sheet in the glove box? Please let me know your thoughts. Thanks, Chevorton |

Re: Speck Sheet Question
If you are talking about a factory upgrade then agreed, this would be on the SPID.

Re: Speck Sheet Question
IIRC the original stock non upgrade would be the 250 6Cyl.Then the 292 and up as you described.

Re: Speck Sheet Question
If your VIN begins with CS it began life as a 6 cylinder. If your VIN begins with a CE it began life as an 8. Base 307 doesn't show on the SPID. Don't know about what 6 cylinder engines show up as optional on the CS trucks.

Re: Speck Sheet Question
292 on CS models. Some don't realize but there are two of every model. In 2wd it's CS and CE and in 4wd it's KS and KE for each model within the same wheel base and body/bed type.

Re: Speck Sheet Question
Thanks for the reply's everyone.
My Vin number begins with a CE, so I know originally it came with a V8, it does not have the 350 upgrade on the speck sheet, so I imagine it came original with a 307, but I just wanted to make sure what I was thinking was correct. Thanks, Chevorton |
